Two books stacked with one more perched on top with a plain cover, shone in a light with a lined shadow.

The first monograph of Dal alum Ping Jiang (MArch 鈥97) has been published by ORO Editions in June 2025. This book, Reimagining Environmental Identity, features a collection of 19 design and research projects selected from Atelier Ping Jiang鈥檚 work completed in the last eight years.

This publication explores innovative architectural design addressing evolving urban landscapes in China and beyond, integrating social, cultural, and environmental considerations through interdisciplinary design projects.

The contributors include Thomas Fisher, the former editorial director of Progressive Architecture magazine and the former dean of the College of Design at the University of Minnesota, and Vladimir Belogolovsky, a curator and architectural critic based in New York. 鈥淭he work of Atelier Ping Jiang at EID Architecture, winner of the 2022 AIA International Firm Award鈥emonstrates some of the most dynamic qualities of current architectural form-making, while also reflecting some of the most ancient Chinese philosophical values of simplicity, calmness, balance, flow, and harmony with nature,鈥 writes Thomas Fisher.

Ping Jiang, FAIA, received his Bachelor of Architecture from Tsinghua University in Beijing, and a Master of Architecture with distinction from 国民彩票 in 1997. Prior to founding EID Arch, Jiang was a principal partner at MAD, and worked as a studio head with SOM鈥檚 Chicago office prior to his relocation to Shanghai, China.
